David’s two favorite educators were Mr. and Mrs. Sankey, who taught him Calculus and Chemistry in high school. Their commitment to challenging students for success and their connections they built in their classrooms inspired David to have a passion for knowledge and community.
As Program Associate, David works in support of the Global Learning Fellowship, grants, and educator awards programs.
Before joining the Foundation, David had experience with public education and early childhood programs at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, DC. Previously, he worked at the Soldiers and Sailors Museum in Pittsburgh, PA, as a curatorial intern. He studied Chemistry with a minor in Art at Carnegie Mellon University, where he was a teaching assistant for various Chemistry courses and created his own course focusing on pop culture within the Student College.
In his spare time, David enjoys exploring DC, reading, taking care of his plants, and going to trivia!
