Washington, D.C. (March 10, 2025)— The NEA Foundation will hold its third annual Global Learning EdCamp on April 5, 2025. The Global Learning EdCamp is a free online professional learning and collaboration opportunity for anyone interested in deepening their global competency and connecting with others in global education.
The EdCamp is held in the style of an “unconference,” meaning the schedule of session topics is driven by participants themselves. Those who register online to attend EdCamp will receive an email several days in advance of the event with the option to participate in a pre-conference conversation over Zoom with other participants and event leaders. During this time, participants will brainstorm session topics. The results of the conversation will inform the session schedule for EdCamp.
While the Global Learning EdCamp is primarily geared toward educators, the event is open to anyone interested in global learning. Attendees will have opportunities to co-facilitate sessions and shape the conversations that take place. As an “unconference,” sessions won’t be formal presentations, but rather, spaces for natural conversations to unfold.
Additionally, EdCamp will include “coffee chats,” informal breakout rooms for those interested in learning more about the NEA Foundation Global Learning Fellowship, which is currently accepting applications for its 2026 cohort. The Global Learning Fellowship is a year-long professional development experience for educators, and applications for the 2026 cohort will be accepted until April 7.
“The purpose of the Global Learning Fellowship and its associated events like EdCamp is to equip educators with the skills and knowledge they need to incorporate global learning into their classrooms, support them in advocating for global learning, and ultimately help students thrive in an increasingly interconnected world,” said Global Learning Fellowship Program Officer Torin Peterson. “Everything we do comes down to being in service of students. And these global learning conversations are a way to further reflect on how best to do that with participants from all over the world.”
Register for the Global Learning EdCamp to be a part of the conversation.
