After 20 years as a science teacher, Wendy Fry now is charged with supporting at-risk students in her school. Her training in this area is minimal and she is eager to immerse herself in the four-day At-Risk and Struggling Students Conference, part of the Innovative Schools Summit, in San Antonio, TX. This training will augment the training that she, other educators and students are receiving this year in managing emotions and handling conflict as part of a Social and Emotional Learning focus for the school this year. Wendy will also be using the learning she gains from the conference to support the updating of her school district’s at-risk and dropout and prevention plan.
