Stephanie King will engage with the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) and the Library of Congress to produce lesson plans that promote equity through the teaching of primary sources. She will develop a chapter and instructional unit for an NCTE-edited and published book, investigate primary sources through virtual meetings and webinars, and learn from other educators from around the country. Additionally, she will present at the NCTE National Conference on the project and the impact it had on her students. Through the implementation of this project, students will be able to use critical thinking skills to categorize the content they consume, question their implicit biases, and understand the importance of multiple perspectives when analyzing literature.
