The goal of this project is to provide elementary school students with equitable and engaging hands-on science activities by accessing the Mystery Science Curriculum beyond the successful free trial the school enjoyed last year. Educators found the curriculum, which is aligned to the Next Generation Science Standards, to be popular, effective and accessible to a variety of learners. Specifically, they felt that the strong visual instructional videos helped their English Language Learning and special needs students succeed with hands-on experiments and build conceptual understanding. Educators will systemically collect quantitative and qualitative data from students, educators and families in the coming year to determine if this is a program that they would approach the PTA to fund in the future.
