This project will support the expansion of Makerspace programs in three elementary schools. Makerspaces invite students to use tools, technology and ordinary objects to discover new things and create innovative projects. Some of the projects that students will engage in include engineering challenges, robotics and coding lessons, and creative circuitry lessons. These projects will bring science, math and art lessons from the classroom to life and teach students vital skills like the importance of trial and error. Student success and progress will be measured not only through the projects they complete, but also through the creative process, which necessitates the use of trial and error and hones students’ engineering and spatial awareness skills.
