This project is intended to support a comprehensive approach to social emotional learning for students in grades K-5. The goal is to strengthen school-based curriculum for educators to effectively teach social and emotional learning strategies and for students to be able to successfully navigate their environment and regulate their emotions. The curriculums were thoughtfully selected and designed to address students with a variety of needs and learning styles, specifically students with disabilities, a subgroup overrepresented in schoolwide discipline data. The project will provide tools and materials as well as a designated area to practice regulation strategies when the classroom environment becomes overwhelming.
