Rene Rotondo plans to travel to Florence, Italy, to attend the Creativity Workshop at the Loris Malaguzzi International Center. The Creativity Workshop will allow Rene to explore first-hand innovative tools including mindfulness, automatic drawing, and free-form writing which she will apply during occupational therapy sessions in her school. At the Center, Rene will focus on better understanding the Reggio Emilia approach and its six tenets: documentation, the multiple languages of children, the environment as the third teacher, the teacher as researcher, long-term projects, and home-school relationships. Rene plans to present what she has learned at the American Occupational Therapy Conference and share what she has learned with her principal and colleagues, as well as her community.
