Mario Godoy-Gonzalez will visit Peru as a part of a GEEO (Global Education Exchange Opportunities, Inc.) Study Group. After, he will use the experience to develop a curriculum that: provides a motivating learning experience for students; uses authentic materials from a Spanish-speaking country to help make lessons culturally responsive by recognizing the value of his students’ primary language; utilizes storytelling as a teaching strategy to enhance
intercultural understanding; and introduce students to National Geographic’s Map Maker as the online mapping tool for exploring the world through a variety of base maps, data layers, and annotation options.
