The purpose of the project is to purchase books to help create a school library where students with learning differences/varying needs are represented – for special education students to see themselves represented in print and for general education students to better understand their special education peers. These materials will be used in morning meetings and guidance lessons to talk about the diversity seen within the books and will be available for students to check them out for further learning. As students progress through the materials, the hope is to create a project displaying what students have learned about their diverse peers.
