This hands-on and interactive project will provide students with opportunities to create videos and pamphlets and to lead discussions about starting a garden, planting and harvesting, tending the garden, and the types of fruit and vegetables being grown in the garden. After growing and harvesting produce, students will sell what they grow at a school-based farmer’s market. This project will culminate in a field study experience at a real working farm. The goal of this project is to teach students modern economic principles, math skills, language skills, and science concepts through activities designed to engage them in the real-life application of skills.
