This project will provide students who have autism opportunities to gain the social and vocational skills necessary to maintain and expand an organic and pesticide-free vegetable and flower garden. Students will plant, grow, and harvest herbs and vegetables in a collaborative and educator-supported environment. This project will help students learn problem solving, communication, collaboration, and data and science skills by maintaining a garden adjacent to their self-contained classroom at Thornwood High School.
