This project will support elementary school students in gaining early exposure to STEM through coding and using mini-robots. Horizon educators recognize that studies show that by the time students reach the 4th, 30% of girls and boys have lost an interest in science-related subjects. Through the accessibility of engaging materials and hands-on activities, the school seeks to counter this trend, with special attention to the under-representation of female students and students of color in STEM careers. Sphero mini-robots will be used at the school for activities that align with standards for science, engineering, and computing devices and systems.
