Educators at Grant High School seek to improve the student experience for students of color in their school building by developing systems of inquiry, support and learning for educators on unconscious bias as well as racism at the individual and structural level. To support this work, they will use the free discussion frameworks and resources of BARWE (Building Anti Racist White Educators). Funds will be used to provide a stipend to educators to support continuity in the program and to honor educators’ time. Funds will also be used to engage student affinity groups and community organizations. Qualitative and quantitative data from educators and students will be gathered with the plan to use new funds coming to the school next year to continue this work and for it to serve as a model for the district.
