This project will bring TouchChat HD technology to students with autism spectrum disorder and severe developmental delays, enabling them to communicate more readily with their teachers and peers. Holly Mullen has used this technology in previous positions with great success and has introduced it to her classroom using a 30-day free trial on her personal iPad. Paraprofessionals in her classroom, who had never used the device before, are now successfully using it to communicate with students. She believes that this effort can have “far-reaching benefits for students that have systematically been marginalized, hidden away in rooms at the back of their schools away from their gen-ed peers.”
