Dyanna Finamore will attend a weeklong Neural Education Institute at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, WA, to learn better how the brain works, including issues of plasticity, working memory and self-regulation. She is particularly eager to better understand the impact of the pandemic and trauma on the brain. She will use the knowledge she gains to improve educational outcomes for students; empower students to access their own potential; ignite her teaching with research-based brain science; use methodologies to manage the classroom by managing the brain; and empower children through social, emotional and restorative practices.
