Six educators from Wausau School District will attend Stimulating Maturity through Accelerated Readiness Training (S.M.A.R.T.). A Chance to Grow, a non-profit health services and educational training organization, will provide the training and participants will learn how the brain typically develops and what might interrupt that development, how to lead S.M.A.R.T. activities, and how to engage students in a developmentally appropriate manner. As a result of this project, the district will increase its capacity to develop engaging instructional content that is designed to accelerate and/or fill gaps in brain development and be better equipped to meet the needs of students.
