Carla-Ann Brown plans to attend and present at three social studies conferences in the fall of 2022. There she will gain further leadership training around inquiry, civic action and advocacy. She will share her research on the impact of culturally sustaining and social justice education on the civic engagement of middle school students. Through her teaching and research, she seeks to expand learning around issues of inequity and social justice to center counternarratives and multicultural experiences for students.
