Ashley Darnell seeks to build her classroom inventory of instruments until each student has a mallet instrument to play. Currently, she has a ratio of 5:1 students to instruments and this grant would allow the purchase of 7 more durable, high-quality Orff instruments, bringing her ratio down to 2:1 and allowing more playing time for students. The instruments will be used in class as well as during the school’s Winter Program which features students at every grade level.
