Denise Sheehan, now in her fourteenth year as an educator, is an English Language Integration Specialist / Coach for her school district. Prior to that, she was 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade Bilingual Teacher. Culturally and linguistically responsive teaching and racial and social justice are her passions. She is currently serving on the National Education Association (NEA) Board of Directors and is the only Director for New Mexico. She is also serving in her last year as the President of her local NEA affiliate in Las Cruces, NM. Denise strives to be the voice of ALL members when it comes to issues that are widely felt, and considers herself a servant leader working hard to improve our profession.
